This one is pretty self explanitory, ended up writing it at the end of this december.
Back in a time you may remember; At a place but we two know. In the night of late december Before the dawn of a new year glow.
I hold in my hands a memory: Words of a promise sealed to a kiss. It grates along my soul as emery, And they curl to the fires hiss.
The fire that burns as my wanting; The reckless passion of one thats besott. Comsuming each promise thats taunting, Destroying all that cannot be forgot.
But the memories of the night continue, Shown brighter as the fire receeds; Today has been the echo without you Two years gone of a promise that reads:
"By love that is living You'll swear to me an oath, By two hearts that are giving The bonds to tie both. By the lips that you crave, And the skin that you touch, By the heart that I saved You'll promise this much: That you'll love me forever And all others forsake, You'll promise me never Beside another to wake. Above all else, promise me this: By the years first light; Sealed on true loves kiss, To promise again, whatever the fight That your heart will be mine Each year on this night."
The promise remains on ashes and dust; Clearly writen in tears; Binding shards of a heart. Each year I recall the words spoken in trust, Each year in december; Alone and apart.
