Guess what. Universal Studios has announced that they are planning to Make The Broadway Musical Wicked into a movie!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Phantom was a big downer, but seeing what great work universal has done with Mamma Mia at adapting the Broadway show to the big screen, I'm sure they'll do a decent job with Wicked. My biggest concerns with the movie are as followed.
Using Idina Menzel, the best Elphaba Throbb to ever walk the face of the earth, and Kristin Chenoweth, the most amazing Glinda to grace the Universe, in the movie. If they don't it'll be a downer for me. After RENT, wich had most of the Original Broadway Cast (Including the one and only Idina Menzel) Casting Directors have no reason not to cast original broadway poeple in the movies! Plus picking an A-list star could be a terrible choice, since most can't sing like Broadway performers. Only Idina has the POWER to sing Defying Gravity right. NO ONE CAN DO IT BETTER THAN HER!
The effects: If your going to make the movie good, do it right. Don't make the effects look rediculous. Look at the Wizard of Oz. The affects were amazing, and very little looked fake. Then look at some of the more recent movies... the affects are so computer generated it looks bad. Make it believeable, and appealing to the eye!!!!
AND FINALLY... THE MOST IMPORTANT.... Do NOT Cut out ANY of the SONGS!!!!!! I repeat... Do NOT CUT OUT ANY OF THE SONGS. THe songs from Wicked are amazing. Cutting out a single song could ruin the plot and the movie. If they cut out one song, I know every theatre lover int the world will boycott this movie. Wicked is a Gloabally Loved show. What with the London, Japanes, German, Russian, Austrailian, Broadway, Chicago, Toranto, San Diego and the Touring groups, people would be devestated!!!

I actually meant I liked phantom. And I personally think that mamma mia was a horrible disaster. But to each his own.
